A set of 8 books from Beery's mail order course on horsemanship, with a smaller booklet on How To Tell a Horse's Disposition at Sight. Topics in the eight books include colt training, disposition and subjection, kicking and balking, shying and running away, bad to shoe and halter pulling, promiscuous vices, overcoming special fears, and teaching tricks. Professor Jesse Beery was a noted horse trainer from Ohio, working in the late 19th century to the mid 20th century. Beery traveled the United States displaying his training skills, before returning to Ohio to establish his correspondence school. Many of his techniques are still referred to today (see Wikipedia). GOOD condition. Uneven toning and offsetting to the wrappers, ranging from minor to heavy. Minor chipping, tearing and wear along the extremities.
