Founded in 1809 and running until 1967, The Quarterly Review was a literary periodical started to compete with public opinion regarding the Edinburgh Review.It had such contributors as Charles Lamb, Robert Southey, Sir Walter Scott and Sir John Barrow during its early days.Edited by John Gibson Lockhart, best known for his lengthy biography of his father-in-law Sir Walter Scott.Three volumes, being No. 43 of May and October 1830, No. 47 from March and July 1832, and No. 53 of February and April 1835.With contributors to these volumes including Washington Irving, Marquis Spineto and Samuel Roberts, among countless others. In a quarter straight grain morocco binding. Externally generally smart; a little rubbed to the head and tail of the spine and the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little spotted. Good.
