Original, light blue, hardcover cloth binding has gilt titles and decorations. Binding and hinges are in solid, tight, square condition with the slightest of tanning on covers. No former owner's names or marks, a clean copy except for a small damp stain on a number of pages toward the rear of the book. One of the first guides for those not born Hindu to becoming a yogi. Important for its influence on the Hippie movement and subsequent spiritual movements. This book has been described as a "countercultural bible". The author, a psychologist, describes his research with Timothy Leary into LSD and psychedelics at Harvard. Influenced and inspired Steve Jobs, Wayne Dyer, Michael Crichton, and George Harrison.
