Paperback. Robert Glenn Ketchum (1947-present) is an American photographer primarily known for his nature photography related to conservation. American Photo magazine named him one of the 100 most important people in photography in the 1990's. Audubon magazine also listed Ketchum as one of the 100 people 'who shaped the environmental movement of the 20th Century'. Ketchum served for 5 years as Curator of Photography for the National Park Foundation, during which time he authored American Photographers and the National Parks (1981). He is a Founding Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers. Although Ketchum photographed nature in numerous environments, he is best known for his images of the Alaskan wilderness, such as The Tongass: Alaska's Vanishing Rain Forest, Aperture, NY, 1986. This catalogue accompanies a 15 year survey of this photographer's work, beginning in 1972. It includes a section called Twilight of color photographs; a section called Winters of black-and-white photographs; a section on the Sandstone Series in color; a section called Order from Chaos of beautiful colored woodland scenes; and a section on the Hudson River and the Highlands of color photographs. Exhibited in the Gallery Min, Tokyo, Japan & the Hudson River Museum, Yonkers, New York. 4to. Black paper wrappers with color photographic illustration to front panel.
