1959. Seventeenth impression. 240 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial cloth covered boards. Black and white illustrations throughout by Blam. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding remains firm. Previous owner's name to front pastedown. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Boards are slightly bowed. Il ne faut pas non plus attribuer l'ouvrage à des Pinkney qui n'ont rien à y voir, comme on le voit dans nombre de référencements : ou William Pinkney (1764-1822), le 7e Attorney général, ou un Nathan Pinkney non attesté par ailleurs.L'ouvrage est fort intéressant, donnant un point de vue complètement extérieur sur l'état de la France, tant à Paris que dans les provinces traversées, de Tours à Marseille. Name on title, some moderate chipping to spine ends, 2" split in the middle of the spine, portions of the boards have the layer of paper worn off or curled back from the edges but certainly a better than very good but not near fine copy in the original boards.
