About this Item

The book is bound in green pebbled cloth covered boards with gilt titles. The title on the front is faded. No other defects to note. Book is # 63 of 100 numbered copies signed and numbered by the author on the title page. Colophon tipped to front flyleaf identifies the book as follows: "The Special Paper & Binding of the book are part of the Patron's Publishing Plan by Northwoods Press. This SPECIAL EDITION IS LIMITED to 100 copies, each book PERSONALLY SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY THE AUTHOR." Attached inside front cover is a typed letter signed by Russell to Dr. Godfrey, who appears to have been a Professor at Central State. Russell, a contemporary Native American poet with a Ph.D. in Botany stated "the sort of science I studied - botany, outdoor work - is really the science of observation and how you observe nature. This is what the Indian does and this is what the poet does." This is a fine copy of this Limited issue of a very rare book. Bookseller Inventory # 005851
