Seller: Antiquarian Golf, Pepperell, MA, U.S.A.
Cloth. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Preface by Lord Brabazon of Tara. 241 pages. A collection of articles and reminiscences intentionally omitting all golfing stories (although a reference or two can be found.) The first person over Niagara Falls in a barrel? Olympic ski jumping at St. Moritz, the island of Trinidad, gold discovery in 1882 Queensland Australia, etc. The first to go over the falls in a barrel? A 168-pound schoolteacher who lived through the ordeal. This Henry Longhurst's own copy, contents slightly water stained from Longhurst's notoriously leaky home in a windmill. Rebound in black cloth with red spine label and gilt lettering. Laid in is a slip from golf book dealer David White attesting to the authenticity. White purchased Longhurst's library from his widow in 1980. Unique opportunity. Covers protected by mylar. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 202322
