Two volumes of this scarce Scottish miscellany, containing illustrations, articles, short stories, plays and advertisements. The Scots Magazine claims to be the oldest magazine in the world still publishing, with its first issue published in 1739, despite a number of breaks in their history. It has a monthly readership of over twenty thousand readers, and contains articles on Scottish culture, nature and history.This is volume II, from October 1924 to March 1925, and volume IV, from October 1925 to March 1926.Volume II is illustrated with twelve illustrations, including vignettes and full plates;l volume IV does not contain illustrations. Collated, complete. In a half calf binding. Externally generally smart, with the spines a touch faded and slight loss to the leather of the extremities and the head and tail of volume IV. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just the odd spot. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 765R48
