Suichikutei , publisher. 4 volumes 26 x 18.3cm string bound Japanese style in fukuro toji with paper wrappers and printed title slips. Each volume represents the cultivation of plants in 1 of 4 seasons: Spring: Jan - March, Summer: April - June, Fall: July - Sept and Winter: Oct - Dec. 30 original black and white woodblock prints with Japanese text. Vol 1 has [42] cho with 6 full page and 1 half page woodcuts. Vol 2 has [34] cho with 6 full page woodcuts. Vol 3 has [20] cho with 6 full page woodcuts. Vol 4 has [30] cho with 11 full page woodcuts. Corresponds with Shin Nippon Kotenseki S g Database and is complete as such. The work of woodblock artist Matsukawa Hanzan 山 (1818-1882) is held in institutions in Japan and internationally, including Lacma, The Metropolitan Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago and The British Museum.
