Set of three CDVs of the "Fairy Wedding Group". Two were published by E. & H. T. Anthony from a Mathew Brady negative with Brady's copyright on recto and facsimile signatures of the party on verso. The third does not have any photographer information on verso. All have printed titles on the card. CDVs measure 2 ½" x 4". Moderate soiling to photos and cards. CDVs are titled "The Fairy Wedding Group", "Commodore Nutt & Miss Minnie Warren as Groomsman & Bridesmaid" and "Com. Nutt & Minnie Warren." One image depicts Charles Stratton (Tom Thumb) and Lavinia Warren Stratton in wedding attire along with George Washington Morrison (Commodore Nutt) and Minnie Warren. The other two photos depict Commodore Nutt and Minnie Warren in formal attire. Charles Stratton and George Washington Morrison were both known by their stage names, General Tom Thumb and Commodore Nutt. These two men along with sisters Lavinia and Minnie Warren were all entertainers associated with P. T. Barnum. When Charles Stratton and Lavinia Warren were married in 1863 about 10,000 guests attended their reception. E. & H. T. Anthony & Company was the largest supplier and distributor of photographic supplies in the United States during the 19th century, and worked closely with one of America's earliest photographers, Mathew Brady.
