Distinguished German Luftwaffe pilots, all recipients of the Knight's Cross: Dahl flew 678 combat missions and is credited with downing 128 enemy aircraft; Glunz flew 574 combat missions in the Battle of Britain, Eastern front and elsewhere and is credited with downing 71 enemy aircraft; Graf was the first Nazi ace to claim 200 downed enemy aircraft, flying 830 combat missions and claiming 212 aerial victories; Kammhuber was the first general of night fighters in the Luftwaffe during World War Two and created a workable night fighter defense system known as the "Kammhuber Line"; Kohler flew on the Eastern and Western fronts and is credited with 69 downed enemy aircraft. Signed Commemorative Envelope, 6½" X 4¼", cancelled in 13 July 1971. Fine. Left half is a color cachet depicting an English aircraft and captioned "30th Anniversary of the Introduction of the D.H. Mosquito Into RAF Service 13th July 1971," with text at right describing commemorative flight on which this envelope was flown. These five aces have each signed boldly in blue and black inks, all but Kammhuber adding a line of credits (such as Kohler, who pens "Kdr. III. / J.G. 77," or Dahl, who adds "Oberst & Kommodore / J.G. 300"). A brief, small biographical text in German about each signer has been rubberstamped on the envelope's verso. A fine combination of aces. Bookseller Inventory # 37732
