A collection of songs and lyrics taken from the play of the two Renaissance playwrights Beaumont and Fletcher. Limited edition. Number 292 of 345. Edited and compiled by E. H. Fellowes. Fellowes was a music scholar who in particular interest in music of the 16th and 17th centuries. The following pieces are featuring in this volume: Cast yor caps & cares away; Goe happy heart; Care-charminge sleepe; Drinke to-day and drowne all Sorrowe; Weepe no more; Hence all yea vaine delights. These lyrics are paired with contemporary musical setting, with musical notations towards the rear of the volume. With the previous owners ink inscription to the front endpaper that reads 'Bill, From Mum. September 1941.' In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding, with paper covered boards. Held in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally generally smart, with light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Bumping also to the extremities, small patches of loss. Very small tide mark to the tail of the front board, towards the fore edge. Light offsetting to the front and rear endpapers, with the previous owners ink inscription to the front endpaper. The dustwrapper is worn. Heavily bumped to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities. Small closed tear to the front board. Small amount of loss to the head and tail of the front and rear joint, and also to the extremities. Small tear to the front of the wrap to the tail. Larger tear to the front of the wrap to the head, no more than 4cm. Small tear to the head of the front fly leaf joint, no more than 2cm. Wrap is age toned, with heavy rubbing to the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 636C40
