About this Item
Wilfrid Ball's history and topographical study of Sussex, with picturesque colour scenes painted by the author and a folding map of the area. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. 75 colour plates, including the frontispiece, and one folding map to the rear. Collated complete. Wilfrid Williams Ball (1853 1917) was a British Victorian and Edwardian painter of landscapes and marine subjects. In this work, he makes a historical and topographical study of Sussex, richly illustrated with his bucolic paintings and a folding map of the area. In publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally smart, with some minor wear to the extremities and to the head and tail of the spine. Front board and spine are slightly faded. Internally, the binding is strained in a couple of places. Pages are bright and clean, except for some spotting and offsetting to the first few pages. Plate 27 is loosely inserted. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 834M13
