About the Author: Fred Bowen is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a law degree from George Washington University. An attorney, a Little League coach, and a lifelong sports fanatic, he currently works for the Department of Labor and lives with his wife and two children in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Jim Thorpe also illustrated THE GOLDEN GLOVE. Born in Michigan, he attended art school in Detroit and served as a U.S. Air Force illustrator before beginning his career as an award-winning commercial and fine artist. Thorpe and his family live in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he has coached his children's baseball teams.
