Second impression. Hardcover, octavo; red cloth boards with gilt upper board and spine titling; 454pp., monochrome frontispiece, plates and many fold-out maps, & index; top edges dyed red. Inscription to owner. Offsetting to endpapers; lightly browned text block edges and scattered spotting to page edges of prelims and title page. Card dustwrapper with green decorative elements with missing segment on head of spine and upper corners with small tears on upper front corner and upper rear spine edge; browning to spine. Very good. Newspaper clippings concerning Lawrence's death laid in. Wrapper now professionally protected by superior non-adhesive archival film and white paper backing.
