32mo (about 2.75" x 4.5"), 128pp. A good copy only in the publisher's printed yellow boards. Backsrip mostly perished and the binding rather loosened as a result. Still an intact copy. A few ink markings on the prelims and some light pencil markings on the last two leaves. Text clean, with mild foxing and a few faint dampstains. General scuffing and rubbing to the boards, though the printed text is legible. A very scarce volume by this Episcopal Reverend, who was at the time of publication the rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. The book promps the reader (intended to be a young married mother) to ask herself questions investigating the spiritual, mental, and physical health of herself, her husband, and her children. Though the binding is rather worn, it is still a rather nice example of a simple American binding of the early 19th century. The first edition was published in 1832, the previous year. OCLC locates perhaps a half a dozen copies of this 1833 printing, mostly at long-established institutions with deep and varied holdings (Cornell, Princeton, Harvard, etc.).
