About this Item

This book is a BCE edition and is in exceptionally nice condition. The book is in as new, unread condition, and the jacket has NO tears or chips, with only very minor wear at the spine ends. It also has wear at the flap end tips, and wear along the front fold edge that is through the red color but not through the paper, and there is a very small wear spot of the same type on the rear fold edge, and a tiny spot on the front fold edge. All this sounds worse than it shows, but we believe in no surprises, and this jacket looks real nice, the jacket is now in a brodart protective plastic sleeve. We ship in cardboard boxes, and guarantee satisfaction. Bookseller Inventory # 22394

About this title

Synopsis:

Clanton, Mississippi. The life of a ten-year-old black girl is shattered by two drunken and remorseless young men. The mostly white town reacts with shock and horror at the inhuman crime. Until her father acquires an assault rifle--and takes justice into his own outraged hands.

For ten days, with burning crosses and the crack of sniper fire spreading through the streets of Clanton, the nation sits spellbound as young defense attorney Jake Brigance struggles to save his client's life...and then his own...

Product Description:

When people outside of Clanton, Mississippi, hear that a black man has killed 2 whites, the town is filled with an angry mob determined to tear down, burn and destroy anything and everyone who opposes them, including defence lawyer Jake Brigance.
