**Scarce** April 1924, assumed first printing. Very rare edition published by Alfred A. Knopf. In Near Fine condition with only the inside front-flap of the dust jacket remaining, price intact $2.00 net. This book is whistle-clean inside , unmarked and straight, square, with fine corners and a minor softening of head and tail of spine, crisp and clean boards and titles on the binding. Very close to fine. The inside flap of dj has 3 titles announcing 'Also by Stephen Hudson' -- 1. Elinor Colhouse, 2. Richard Kurt. and 3. Prince Hempseed. Each has comments from various sources lauding the merits of each edition. Stephen Hudson is a pseudo name for Sydney Schiff, British novelist and translator. He was friends in Paris with all the Bigs in Literature, Art, and Music. Proust, James Joyce, Picasso, Stravinsky, T S Eliot, and Aldous Huxley. He translated vol. 12 of Proust.
