Hardcover. 240 pp. With illustrations by Al Hirschfeld. INSCRIBED ON THE FRONT FREE ENDPAPER "FOR FRANK HOGAN/ FRED ALLEN". Frank Hogan was the famed District Attorney of New York City for 30 years beginning in 1941, known for his honesty and integrity; he was also a noted bibliophile. Fourth printing (same year as the first). Comic legend Fred Allen offres this autobiographical account of his career in radio, which began in 1932, and made him one of the most popular entertainers of his time. Allen died in 1956. Very good, spine lettering dulled. In dust jacket with a large chip to the head of the spine and some wear, soiling and creasing. Laid in is a long, tri-folded piece titled "Preface To An Autograph" issued by the Ben Sackheim advertising agency consisting of a humorous "conversation" between Allen and Sackheim concerning autographed copies of this book.
