Original hand-colored engraving. Engraved image has a plate line, but no watermark on the paper. Very good condition, with light foxing in margins, small area of abrasion in left margin outside of the plate line. This is a caricature by James Gillray showing two men and two women playing cards. Published by John Miller, Bridge Street, London & W. Blackwood, Edinburgh. This contemporary hand-coloured caricature, is from the collection of Gillray's works issued under the publisher's imprint John Miller, slightly smaller than the 1808 original, but the colouring is period and NOT modern.
