Half-title, title-page with vignette, and additional illustrated title-cum-frontispiece (at verso of half-title) for each of the two parts. pp(4) / (4)171(1) / (4)202(2); with in-text illustrations, as well as map for Aventures. Quarter maroon morocco of the period. Spine with four raised bands, gilt titles & decorations, and black rules. Marbled paper-covered boards. Marbled endpapers. Spine slightly rubbed at head and foot. Fore- & lower edges of boards rubbed, upper edges slightly so; upper outer corners lightly rubbed, lower outer corners a little worn. Endpapers split along hinges. Contents foxed up to page 1 of Ville Flottante, and from page 197 to end of Aventures; a scattering of variable mainly-light foxing elsewheres. Contents otherwise faintly toned throughout, occasionally lightly handling-marked, with a few short corner creases, and one or two minor closed tears confined to margins. Edges of text-block toned.
