Ex-WPA library copy but with no external marks as such. Reprint of the 1894 first edition. [6], 366, [10] pages. Hardcover; H 16.75cm x L 10.75cm. White dust jacket well soiled and rubbed, shallow chipping along edges deepest at spine head; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Dj's front panel illustrated by red clenched hand with extended thumb pressing downwards against a prone man spread upon the ground all against a blue and white background and reflecting Socialist influenced graphic arts. Blue cloth with white lettering. Well toned top edge with foxed fore-edge. "W.P.A. Property" stamp upon front and rear free endpapers; library pocket affixed upon rear pastedown but mostly hidden underneath dj's rear flap. No other such marks readily apparent after a quick perusal and interior pages remain fairly clean. Uncommon edition of the classic treatise against Standard Oil by Chicago muckraking journalist Henry Demarest Lloyd with a Foreword by John Chamberlain. Bookseller Inventory #
