In 1981 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Shoot-Out At The OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, ninety-nine copies of this book were produced by Yoma V. Bisset in Sierra Vista, Arizona for Glenn Boyer. The edition run sold out immediately with many collectors paying in advance for their copy. It is known as the Flood Manuscript, written by Earp confidant and unpaid secretary John H. Flood Jr. from interviews with his friend Wyatt Earp in 1926 and 1927. Flood, a former mining engineer, was not much of a writer and when this book was submitted to numerous publishers, all declined. There have been numerous biographies of Wyatt Earp, the most successful being those of Stuart Lake and Boyer himself, but this is the only one dictated and sanctioned by Wyatt Earp and it remains a valuable contribution to the field.Boyer began researching Wyatt Earp after retiring from the Air Force in 1965 and became, arguably, the dominant force in Earp studies. He developed a relationship with Jeanne Cason Laing, the granddaughter of Virgil Earp, and she supplied him with source material for a considerable portion of what he wrote. His research resulted in three primary books: The Suppressed Murder of Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp's Tombstone Vendetta, and I Married Wyatt Earp, and many other articles. Seller Inventory # 72173
