Hardback, thick 12 mo, 5 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches, black titling & decorations on reddish cloth covers (terracotta? or light brick red?), 357 pages, VG+/no dj (stiff clear acetate dustwrapper provided to preserve condition). Externally, book pretty well-cared for (if not ignored for many decades), covers mostly very clean, only light bumping corners and ends, spine cloth faded to light pink. Internally one light thumb smudge fore-edge of p. 28 o/w unmarked and pretty much immaculate w/ an unread look and feel, clean decorative endpapers with hinges intact, pages seem a little brittle w/ hint of tanning starting at the margin edges, no foxing present incl the b&w photographic plates (maybe 8 or 10 in all). Plates incl full page photos of the authors preceding the title page (facing each other), a group trance (?) in a lecture hall, an electrocution test & 3 of The Flints (4 brothers incl Herbert and sister Mariana, one showing Mariana suspended between two chair backs with the 4 brothers standing on her) & Ada St. Claire in a pose.
