Profusely (!) illustrated by the author with black and white captioned photos and several color captioned photos, including the frontispiece. Appendix: Materials for Enameling and Where to Buy Them; Contemporaty American Enamelists; Tables of Information Useful to Enamelists (including Melting Points); Where to Find Information on How to Color Copper, Glossary, Bibliography, and Index. Blue cloth with gile letters on the spine and with an enamel design in blind on the front cover. Born in North Scituate, MA, in 1904, Kenneth F. Bates consistently won prizes for his enamel work. He also had a long career of teaching at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
