Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 225 p. 23 cm. Numerous illustrations in green, black and orange. Green cloth with black and red colouring. Lower portion of covers discoloured, mainly front. Corners worn, small tears in spine ends. Ink inscription on a front endpaper. Pages 25-32 have tears in margins. Children's crayon marks on rear endpapers. Some thumbing. After Baum wrote The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, he wrote this story about the adventures of a little girl named Dot and a little boy named Tot in a land reached by floating on a river that flowed through a tunnel. Illustrated by artist W. W. Denslow, who had illustrated three previous Baum books.

Light green cloth stamped in black with full color paper label illustration to front. No dust jacket. Boards gently worn along edges and corners slightly bumped. Binding is sound. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown, but pages otherwise unmarked. Final three pages include instructions on how to assembly the "waddles," which could be put together as full 3-D color figures, unfortunately lacking here. Still a very good or better copy of the first Oz book with many of the original Denslow illustrations present. [Bievenue & Schmidt pp. 12-13].
