Very worn at forecorners, head and foot of spine, covers and spine soiled, and PO's bookplate on front pastedown. Interior is unmarked and securely bound. Compiled by the artist's wife Emma Bellows with the help of his teacher Robert Henri, who was founder of the "Ashcan School." Forward by Bellows explores the relationship of art to nature, society, and the artists. 143 full-page B&W plates with alphabetical index. The postal charges quoted are for an average-sized book.
