Condition: Good. - Narrow octavo [approximately 9-1/4 inches high by 4 inches wide], softcover bound in printed brown wrappers. The wraps are soiled & slightly faded along the spine. Title & 40 pages. The contents are very good. Good. First edition.A note at the foot of the title page reads: "Privately printed and not for sale: August 28th, 1936, being the sixth anniversary of Frank Harris' death". A foreword by Mitchell Kennerly states that the originals of the letters were acquired by the American Autograph Shop, Merion Station, Pennsylvania at an auction sale in London on May 25th 1936. The first letter is addressed to "Dear Mr. Tonson" as Arnold Bennett was signing his book reviews for The New Age "Jacob Tonson". Mitchell Kennerley was an American publisher, editor, and gallery owner.
