An account of the community of Stehekin, Washington, located on Lake Chelan as remembered and recorded by members of the Buckner family. Describes life on the family's ranch and in the surrounding area during the era primarily from the 1920s through the 1940s. Illustrated with many historic photographs. Fifteen pages are given to the history of the settlement of the Stehekin Valley and there is a map showing the location of the original homesteads in Stehekin Valley, as well as property ownership information collected for the 17 original homesteads. In addition, the Bucknell's neighbors are each given some coverage (ranging from a single paragraph to a couple pages): the Merritt, Wilson, Courtney, Byrd, Oliver, Maxwell, Lesh, McConnell, McLean, Imus, and Blankenship families, as well as for the Barney Zell place.
