This unit was one of the famous "300" fighting regiments of the Union Army. It had 10 officers and 145 men killed or mortally wounded; 3 officers and 251 enlisted men died of disease for a total of 409 deaths. They fought in Battle of Fredericksburg, the siege of Vicksburg, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, Petersburg and the Appomattox Campaign. The regiment was part of Burnside s 9th Corps. Good+ copy of the first edition. The front hinge is starting. 759 pages plus a 171 page appendix with the regimental roster.
