Collection of light verse. Elsbery W. Reynolds (1868 -) . in his own words : " . the Studebaker "ad" writer/Will make the burdens of your life seem lighter" . Missouri-born but very much part of Pomona, California, Reynolds was ad writer, car dealer with true devotion to the Studebaker, and owner of the publishing house that issued this book. The last stanza of Watch for the Thief (pg 128) reads: "Procrastination can not claim/ To help you on to worthy gain/ Don't let yourself be a mistaker/ By putting off a Studebaker". He also authored the biography of popular novelist Harold Bell Wright (1872 - 1944). Strong copy despite foxing. First Edition, First Thus.
