Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1941, 65pp. VG. Inscribed by the author "Dr. _ compliments of an old man." W. D. Funkhouser, (1881-1948), became a professor of zoology at the University of Kentucky in 1918. In 1925 he was named Dean of the graduate school, and in 1927 professor of anthropology, having co-founded the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology. He authored, or co-authored some of the outstanding books on Kentucky archaeology and anthropology. In this unusual book, he tells his ages old life story, (and by extension, the story of mankind) beginning 400,000 years ago in Australasia, and how he evolved through the Eolithic, Paleolithic, and Neolithic periods. He utilizes his knowledge of anthropology to trace the migrations of the evolving races, and to describe their cultures and societies, and, in particular, his own ethnic heritage. A very interesting book. Signed by Author(s).
