An artistically produced history of the 1911 Austin Dam disaster, being a compilation of historic photographs and images of newspaper stories reporting on the building of the Austin dam in 1909, the scare of 1910, the disaster of 1911, the aftermath, and explanations of the causes of the disaster. The Austin Dam, also known as the Bayless Dam, was a concrete gravity dam, the largest dam of its type in Pennsylvania at the time. The catastrophic failure of the dam in 1911 destroyed much of the town of Austin and killed 78 people.
