Pictorial Hard Cover. Condition: Good. John R. Neill (illustrator). The cover has dark blue cloth. Twelve chapters. Eight plates of color illustrations. The illustration on the endpapers is the one for chapter 9 in illustration list. The top end of the text block has gilt, which has small, dull spots. The corners of the spine strip have color loss from shelf wear rubbing. A 1/4 in. scrape is near a bottom corner, on a grassy area of the front board's illustration. The bottom edges of the boards have intermittent places of color loss. Three board corners are threadbare, from 1/8 in. to a 5/8 in. x 1/4 in place, which is also thinned board. The top end of that back board has a 1 3/4 sq. in. area that has color from dampness. The front endpaper's fold is split over the hinge; the hinge remains tight. One glassine sheet, that faces a plate, is nearly split in two. The top corners of the last 7 pages of text each have linear 3/4 in., light stain. The top corner of the 13 blank pages in the back each have a light stain, up to 1 in. x 1/2 in. The top margins of the last five plates each have a line of light stain, 1 in. to 4 in. The back endpaper has intermittent light, water stain along the edges. The stain is darker on the blank side of the free endpaper. Scans e-mailed upon request.
