    Second edition. 8vo, pp. 136 plus 11 pp. ads. Original tan boards with brown cloth spine. Spine title paste-on missing, spine and edges worn, interior toned, but a VG tight copy. Scarce. The first American book on pedagogy by the founder of the first American teachers' college at Concord VT. Hall also served as principal of Phillips Academy at Andover MA, helped found the American Institute of Instruction in Boston in 1830, was an early contributor to the scientific study of education and also is credited with having used the first blackboards in America.
