Hardcover. Condition: Good. Hardcover. Green cloth over boards with gold lettering on the spine and on the front cover. Published 1876. Full title is, "The Life and Life-Works of Dr. David Livingstone, Missionary, Philanthropist, and Explorer, as Portrayed by Personal Narratives and Last Journals: Continued by the Story of His Death in Inner Africa, the Return March of His Men, and His Burial in Westminster Abbey. Together With a History of the Stanley and English Relief Expeditions, and Some Account of Early and Contemporary Explorers." 806 pages. Binding is tight. Fabric of the spine is torn and loose from the binding, cracked 2/3 of the way on the back hinge. Crack to the front gutter, binding is visible. Corners are bumped and frayed. Covers are rubbed. Edges worn and frayed. Front endpaper bears two bookplates. Pages are clean of foreign marks. Illustrations are clean and in good condition. Title page reads, "144 engravings, maps and fac-similes. Published by subscription only.".
