Primarily Bastrop County, Texas, during the Texas Revolution and Republic; edited by bookseller John Jenkins when still in his teens from a series of newspaper articles written in the 1880s. Tight, straight and unmarked; Very Good or better, lacking the dustwrapper but with front and rear jacket flaps laid in at rear. The first book, completed while he was still a high-school student, by the colorful Texas antiquarian bookseller John H. "Johnny" Jenkins (also known by his championship poker handle of "Austin Squatty"). Later in his career Jenkins became associated with certain notorious forgeries of Tesas documents, and died under mysterious circumstances at the age of 49.
