A fundraiser for the American Friends Service Committee's medical and rehabilitation centers in Vietnam for the care of child victims of war. The book was published by dance instructor Barbara Mettler and featured two of her students: Quaker activist June Yungblut (1925-1982) and Stephanie Bantlin. Yungblut contributes the titular poem inspired by the horrific photograph of South Vietnamese child Kim Phuc walking naked down the road after being burned in a South Vietnamese napalm attack. The image is repeated throughout the book and is juxtaposed with photographs of young dancer Stephanie Bantlin. Stapled, photo-illustrated wrappers (8" x 9 ¾"), [46] p., photographs. Ex-library from the Northampton branch of the American Friends Service Committee, with card pocket taped to front free endpaper, AFSC stamp to the top of p. [5]. Uncommon institutionally.
