Stapled Wrappers. Condition: Fine. Limited Edition. np. One of 30 copies issued. Two stapled chapbooks, each with HIJ handstamped to the front cover above the author's name and the date 18/01/2015; 20 pages (Alexis) and 16 pages (Baziju) respectfully; both housed in a plain white envelope with HIJ / TEN hand stamped to the front. Produced for the tenth installment of a reading series called HIJ, loosely based on a journal run by the hosts Jay & Hazel Millar in the early 1990s. Alexis' booklet contains dog poetry from his novel Fifteen Dogs; Baziju's booklet contains three prose poems and three translations from the Chinese of Li Bai. The reading was a unique occasion as it was the first time in all their friendship that Alexis and Borson/Maltman had ever read together. Other firsts: it was produced for the first ever public reading og Baziju's translations from the Chinese of Li Po, as well as the first public reading from Alexis' Fifteen Dogs, which went on to win the 2015 Giller Prize. Alexis has neatly signed his chapbook on the front. Signed by Author(s).

Signed and dated (7-16-12) by both authors with thick black Sharpie's on the half-title page. "The one that got away, or the one who's here to stay? Twenty-five years ago, Juliette Taylor walked away from her career as a supermodel after a chance encounter with a handsome stranger. She's never regretted that decision - and never forgotten the man who gave her the courage to change her life. These days, Juliette's ministry is providing encouragement to women who spend their time caring for and nurturing others. She uses her successful skin care line and spa retreats to rejuvenate these "servers" Isn't it time someone took care of you for a change? That's the theme for this weekend's retreat, and Juliette can't wait. But as she heads for the world-renowned Palm Grotto Resort and Spa, she runs into Raven, a fellow supermodel from back in the day known for her fiery red hair and equally fiery temper. Within minutes, Raven flies into a rage and threatens to kill Juliette. Two hours late, Raven is dead. Filled with guilt and sadness, at first Juliette doesn't even notice the curious arrival of TOTGA - The One That Got Away. Now she must sort out her feelings for this man from her past, as well as try to learn who killed her old modeling rival and why - before she becomes the prime suspect.or the next victim." - from the rear outer cover ABOUT THE AUTHORS: ***Kim ALexis was an original supermodel of the 1980s appearing on more than 500 magazine covers and in numerous beauty advertisements.
