Originally published in hard covers in the US by Crown in 1943. The front cover has a letter 'E' in crayon to the bottom right corner and a little light edge wear. Three inch closed tear down the left side of the front cover next to the spine which has a little chipping at the bottom and a little edge rubbing. Light surface marking to the rear cover which has a small chip at the bottom left corner. Light chipping to the bottom corners of the last few pages and the pages are browned but they are otherwise unmarked. First printing.
