The covers are soiled and their edges rubbed as to be expected with the boards just exposed at the corners. The hinges are starting but the book is very tight thoughout. The pages are remarkably clean with a light smudge in the margin of a few pages. Profusely and delightfully illustrated with vibrant colors. The red ink has lightly bled through the pages but does not affect the legibility of the text. Owner has two book plates on the front paste down and pencil name on front free end paper. Laura Bancroft is a pseudonym of L. Frank Baum, the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the Oz books and many more. The illustrator is the sister of Frank Lloyd Wright.
