    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The dark blue cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine are clean and bright. Internally, there is some foxing to the second and third front free end papers and the half-title page. There is also some light foxing the page edges of the leafs with text (43), however, the leafs with the Photomicrographs(unpaginated but containing 127 plates-one plate per page but may contain multiple images) are bright. Some of the images have toned the page opposite the image. The dust wrapper is sunned at the spine and the folds, and it has small tears along the bottom edge, none larger than 3/8 of an inch. The dust wrapper is currently protected by a clear removable cover. This book may require additional charges than are typically assigned for mailing.

Illustrated with photomicrographs with one hundred and twenty-seven plates to rear. In original unclipped dustwrapper. First edition. Dedicated to the Duke of Westminster and with an introduction to front by Laurie dated 1932. Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606 - 1669) was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history. His contributions to art came in a period of great wealth and cultural achievement that historians call the Dutch Golden Age when Dutch Golden Age painting, although in many ways antithetical to the Baroque style that dominated Europe, was extremely prolific and innovative. In a cloth binding with unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, in excellent condition with only minor marks to spine and slight bumping. Dustwrapper has the odd slight closed tear, marginal age toning and occasional marks. Internally, firmly bound. Bright and generally clean throughout with only minor foxing to first and last few pages. Some pages unopened. Very Good Indeed. book.
