Bound in bright gilt lettered black cloth, shelf dusted and rubbed to spine. Franois Villon is the best known French poet of the Late Middle Ages. He was involved in criminal behaviour and had multiple encounters with law enforcement authorities. Villon wrote about some of these experiences in his poems. Journalist and author Lewis gathered material for this entertaining biography when living in Paris in the 1920s.
