Some of the verses first appeared in Contemporary Verse, Adventure, Overland, and Sunset magazines. Born in Massachusetts, the author, Elliott Curtis Lincoln (1884-1970), came to Montana in 1908 to homestead; while homesteading he began writing and publishing poetry. He published several volumes of poetry, becoming known as a cowboy poet; in the 1920s he taught English at Washington State. This was his first book. In Very Good- Condition: edges are rubbed; minor loss of paper over boards along edges; boards are lightly soiled; pages are clean and tight.
