No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Original program printed with black ink on beige paper. No date, circa 1950s. 6" x 9." Four pages (one leaf folded in half and printed on all sides), complete. Advertisement for Bedell's restaurant on back. Program is clean and intact overall but has multiple horizontal fold lines, slight wrinkling, and slight splitting along the folds. A Very Good copy. Program for a performance of Mister Roberts by Tod Andrews and New York Company at the Sacramento High School Auditorium. Mister Roberts (1946) is a novel by Thomas Heggen. It was based on the real-life experiences of Heggen aboard the USS Rotanin and USS Virgo in the South Pacific theater during World War II. Heggen and Joshua Logan later adapted Mister Roberts into a play of the same name in 1948. The play and novel were both a resounding success.

Original Playbill Magazine for the week of Monday, June 13, 1949 for the Broadway performance of "Mr. Roberts" at the Alvin Theater in New York. The play, which debuted in 1948, was based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Heggen. Henry Fonda originated the role of the title character, having been released for a movie contract in order to accept the part, and won the Tony Award as Best Actor. He reprised his role for 1955 film version. The play itself won the Best Play" Tony for 1948.
