Scarce monograph on the life and social and political philosophy of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, issued in commoration of the centennial year of his birth. Masaryk (1850-1937) served in the Austria-Hungary government in the late 19th and early 20th century. During the World War I, he organized the Czech Legion with the help of Russia. He worked to have Czechoslovakia recognized as an independent nation. With the help of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and other of the Allies, he was named President of Czechoslovak Republic in 1918.
