B-24 bombers were made at this plant by Ford Motor Company; later Kaiser-Frazier Corp. Built the C-119, aka 'the flying boxcar,' for the US army. Later on General Motors Corp. Made transmissions, and other auto parts there. The plant is permanently closed down, but the airfield remains and is used, to this day. Mostly for air freight, and also to house the Yankee Air Museum, which hosts several, huge air shows every year.
