Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. Innocents Abroad, mark Twain's iconic tale of travel throughout Europe and the East of which he " offers no apologies for any departures from the usual style of travel-writing that may be charged against me-- for I think I have seen with impartial eyes, and I am sure I have written at least honestly, whether wisely or not." This 2 volume set is in near fine condition, internally tight and clean and totally unmarked. Covers have beautiful and bright, white and green and Gilt blind stamps over nice green cloth. The tops of the text blocks are gilded and the bottom and fore edges are untrimmed, and slightly soiled. Spines are slightly faded yet the gilt lettering in quite readable.
