    Hardcover. Condition: Good+. No Jacket. A lightly used library copy, tight and clean, but suffering a bit from old age. The top of the spine has a few tears and the spine is faded with a shelving spot. Most of the sepia colored engravings have an embossed library stamp. Volume 2 only. 355 pages including the index. Red cloth covers, hinges intact, a library plate inside the front cover. There was not a pocket. A fairly nice copy. email or call if you have questions, we respond cheerfully.

Size Octavo, volume I - 342 pages plus introduction and list of plates at rear; volume II - 372 pages including index. Green cloth covered boards with gilt titles to front cover and gilt titles on tan morocco label to each spine, top edges gilt, other edges rough trimmed. Condition good, small patches of fading to covers and spine, corners and spine ends a little rubbed and bumped, ex-libris labels to front paste-down in each volume, spotting to first and last few pages else contents clean. With tissue protected frontispiece in each volume. A selection from the correspondence & diaries of the late Thomas Creevey MP born 1768, died 1838 Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.

    Hardcover. Condition: Good. London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1900, Third Edition. Same year as the first, scarce in any edition. x, 376pp. Bound in red leather/red cloth separated by gilt lines with gilt Maxwell crest to the front board and spine, gilt titles and decoration to the spine. There is a colour fold out map at page 352 and a b/w fold out map at the rear of the book, both of which are in excellent condition. Approximately 7 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles, 4 raised gilt bands separating 5 compartments, 3 of which have a gilt Maxwell crest. Joints good condition sound. Corners good condition gently bumped and worn. Boards good condition half red leather/red cloth with gilt Maxwell crest to the centre of the front board, there are a couple of very small marks down the left hand edge (near the joint) of the front board. Page edges good condition top edge gilt, fore and bottom edges tanned and foxed. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound. Paste downs good condition marbled. End papers good condition marbled with some foxing around the edges, signed by Gordon Maxwell on one of the free front end papers. Title good condition red and black text with a red crest design to the centre. Pages good condition there is a list of other works by the same author on the page opposite the title page, one colour and one b/w fold out maps which are both in excellent condition, lightly tanned throughout.
