This is a title in the publisher's Poetry and Fiction series. A novel set in the early 1970s as the golden age of the newspaper is drawing to a close. It is set in a small-town New England newspaper and the main character is an ambitious and eager college graduate who wants to start her career as a reporter there. Her first stories are rough though and she ends up assigned to the Women's page covering weddings and anniversaries. After a while she is offered a chance to work at a big-city newspaper and leaps at the chance where she finds that there is a price for success in the larger world. By the author of "The Courage of Girls," "Home at Last," "The Very Rich Hours," and "Airs of Providence." 222p. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
